Aisha Buhari apologises for the viral video

The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday 16th October 2019 apologised to her children, family members and the entire public for the embarrassment she caused over the viral video released by Fatima Daura, daughter of the President’s nephew, Mamman Daura.

According to the statement which was released by her Director of Information, Suleiman Haruna, Mrs Aisha Buhari made the apology during a solidarity visit by all first ladies from the 36 states at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, M Abuja. The statement said: “Commenting on the video which has been circulating on all social media platforms/networks, Mrs Aisha Buhari extends her apology to her children, her family members and all citizens of Nigerian which she represents over the embarrassment that the video might have caused.”

Mamman Daura Daughter, Fatima Daura was the one who videoed her and leaked the video to the entire public despite having family ties to the president and not taking into consideration that she also stays in the presidential villa with the first lady. Nigerians are of the opinion that Mamman Daura is one of the cabal ruling the country and using the president as a disguise as the first lady has always complained about a certain group of cabals.

The first lady, however, pledged during the meeting to construct a regional secretariat for the African First Ladies Peace Mission. The Africa First Lady Peace Mission was established after the Beijing Conference of 1995.
