A Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court in the Ikeja area of Lagos has sentenced a supervisor at Chrisland School, Vgc, Lekki area, Lagos, Adegboyega Adenekan, aged 47, to 60 years imprisonment for the crime of child defilement. The Justice in charge of the trial, Sybil Nwaka handed down the sentence after convicting Adenekan of a lone count charge of defiling a two-year and 11-month-old pupil.
The little child who gave an accurate and detailed description of how Adegboyega defiled her is still in touch and speaking with a child psychologist. The 47-year-old Adegboyega was arraigned before the Court on January 2018.
According to Titilayo Shitta-Bey, the state Director of Public Prosecution, the defendant committed the crime in November 2016 and has since been awaiting trial.
The police officer in charge of the case told the court the following: “The child took us upstairs to an office that belongs to the defendant. She identified his seat out of three seats which were in the room and she identified the particular restroom in the office where the said incident had occurred.”
In a video clip of the interview the police had with the child, which was also shown to the court, the little girl said that the supervisor put his “wee-wee” in her “wee wee” two times.
The court, however, gave its final judgement and sentenced Mr Adegboyega to 60 years imprisonment with hard labour, serving this as a warning to as many people out there who molest underage girls.
