Syndicate group confesses to selling stolen vehicle for N750,000 after drugging owner

The Nigerian police of the Imo State division has been on the parol of apprehending all members of a certain syndicate group who have been a thorn in peoples flesh, robbing them of their hard-earned money and stealing their moveable properties. These robbers specialise in drugging car owners before stealing their vehicles in Imo and Rivers states.

The police after much efforts have successfully captured them. While the police paraded the suspects, Commissioner of Police, Imo State division, Rabiu Ladodo, said the suspects were a thorn in the people’s flesh as they have been declared wanted for a long time.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu said it took the entire command time to track down members of the gang after they had snatched a vehicle from one Chukwuemeziem Nwoke around March after successfully drugging him and he became unconscious.

“We acted on a piece of information we got by one Chukwuemeziem Nwoke telling us about his blue Toyota Camry with number plate ABC 20 AT and phone which  were snatched from him on March 25th, 2019 by unknown persons”

“We trailed One of the suspects and arrested him at Orji in Owerri, the state capital. During the interrogation, he confessed to the crime and also mentioned his accomplice as one Kingsley Okeke, who is a native of Amauzu in the Ahaiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of the state but lives in Rivers State, he stated that it was this his accomplice who helped to sell the vehicle to one Kingdom Ugochukwu, who is a native of Chokocho Echie in Rivers State.”

The Commissioner of Police added that the suspects, after stealing the said vehicle, repainted it, fixed tinted glasses on it and changed the number plate before selling it for N750,000. Ladodo announced that the suspects would be prosecuted to serve as a lesson to other criminals in the state.
