Truck Collision with Dangote truck results in two casualties and truck drivers death

A driver who is yet to be identified has just died today, Thursday 3rd of October 2019 after he rammed his truck into a parked Dangote truck at the Kyakyama axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The driver was confirmed to be driving through Lagos when he suddenly lost control of the truck. Unfortunately, three people were involved in the accident. The injured victims were rushed to the hospital in Ogere Remo for treatment, while the remains of the driver were deposited at the FOS Mortuary in Ipara, Ogun State.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps and men from the Ogere Police Division in the state responded to the accident on time. The Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, announced that the accident was caused by reckless driving on the part of the driver, adding that both vehicles had been impounded and taken to the Ogere Police Division.

Babatunde Akinbiyi said:

 “At about 4 am at the Kyakyama axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a driver of a truck loaded with Trophy beer, while going through Lagos, rammed a Dangote company Truck that was parked by the roadside. Both vehicles had no registration number, and three people have been confirmed to have been affected by the accident. 

“The driver who was driving the trophy beer truck has been confirmed dead, while the injured victims have been rescued to  Victory Hospital, Ogere-Remo. The presumed dead had been deposited at the FOS Mortuary, in Ipara.

Akinbiyi pleaded with all motorists to stop speeding so as to prevent further accidents in the state.
